Understandably however, the neighbors are concerned about such a business going on right in their own backyards. Not surprisingly, he is also dealing with some zoning issues with the city. Does your Home-based Business comply with local zoning laws? Does it have activities that can bother your neighbors? These are at least two questions that need to be asked before starting a business at home. For example, if you want to play in liquidation and closeout markets, you'll have semi trailers dropping off pallets on your street. Will that work? Having said that, one has to admire Mr. Swank for his entrepreneurial spirit. If you read the article, you get the sense that he is planning well beyond his home-based business. But the usual disclaimer applies - don't try this at home!
