Most Alaskans "don't have an accent" by that I mean we speak like mid-western/califonians.... If you were to hear the average (white) Alaskan speak, you wouldn't know where they were from based on such. Regarding my quotations- every one in the world has a distinctive style or tone, but none original to Alaska except for the "natives" and foreigners-(mostly Russians w/ a few japs. good question though!

No, it an American language and a very distant cousin to the Queen's English. It may even sound different from the version of English popular in the Deep South or the diction used in Massachusetts or the syntax used in New York and New Jersey. Australians and New Zealanders also speak something somewhat different then the English of the Mother Tounge but somehow the "English Speaking World" gets by.
