The panther habitat is disappearing. Humans have industiralized their habitat so they cannot breed successfully. Male panthers cannot get to the famale panthers without crossing roads which is a main killer of the animal. Because of the smaller habitat for the animal there is inbreeding that weakens the panthers immune sysytem and makes them susceptible to diseases. Pollution is also a cause of the disappearance of the panther. High levels of Mercury in the water have attributed to many deaths.
