I have a guinea pig named Chelsea (just got her today) and she does this every time I hold her. It's adorable!
It is like purring which is actually a strong vibration of their heart because it beats faster than ours does.
This is normally a sign of distress or nervousness. When bringing your guinea pig in for a cuddle make sure it is held in a quiet environment where there are no loud noises.. Hope this helps Laura
While I can't speak for every guinea pig, I know that my guinea pig does something similar to a cat's purr which may feel like a vibration when you pet the guinea pig. It's general a sign of affection, but they sometimes do it as a fear response to sudden loud noises.
I have two guinea pigs, a male and female, and the males do tend to 'purr' at the females to show affection and if you hold them while they do this it does feel like they're vibrating like a mobile phone, so I'd say yes they do vibrate! Although its mainly males my female purrs occasionally as well. And my friend has pigs who are both male that purr at each other!
they are vibrating because they are frightened or because they like you.
if a guinea pig is purring that means it likes you or they like they way your holding them .
Because it is nervous
Yes. It takes a while for guinea pigs to get used to their owners but when they do they will love you. When they here your voice they will start to squeal and make sure you hold them ALOT !!!
Peruvians cook guinea pigs. Guinea pigs are native there and they are called Cuy.
Male Guinea Pigs are called Boars, female Guinea Pigs are called Sows, and babby Guinea Pigs are called Pups. A group of Guinea Pigs is called a Herd. :)
It will scare them but you can hold them. Also if away from the mom they will squeal loudly and they can be with the male and if you can hold a baby and the dad guinea pig together they will get along.
well.... guinea pigs might not be wild, but wild cavies, simalar to guinea pigs, are wild.
guinea pigs are not tlike hamsters after a day or too you can hold on hamsters will eat their young but guinea pigs wont
Guinea pigs will vibrate for several reasons, they could be cold or nervous.
none because hamsters are smaller than guinea pigs
They missed each other and that's how they talk.
Yes Guinea Pigs do sneeze. it is a strange sound that can not be heard from a long distance, as it is very quiet. When a sneeze is made, the Pig will vibrate and shake for a very, very short time.
Because guinea pigs don't have tails!
so they can see higher
