If the presumed context of "ghosts" are lost souls, then no. We believe that after death, the soul goes out of the body and go to either Heaven or Hell as it's final destination.

On the other hand, if the presumed context of "ghosts" are evil spirits/demonic beings, then yes. We believe that these are fallen angels that manipulate the minds of people.

Yes, although for Mormons the term Hell is slightly ambiguous, and could mean a few different things within their view of the afterlife, these are outlined as follows:

1. Spirit Prison:

Where the spirits of deceased people who died without the gospel of Jesus Christ, or who were disobedient. This is a temporary state which will end with the Resurrection of all the dead.

2. Outer Darkness:

Where Satan and the spirits that follow him dwell. This is a place that is permanently separated from God, for a man to end up there, he must believe in God, but follow Satan.

3. Mormons believe that there are many degrees of glory that someone can receive after the Resurrection, and, in a sense, any of the degrees of glory, except for the highest, could be considered Hell because they aren't constantly with God.

In scripture, context must be considered when interpreting which of these is being referenced as Hell.

Probably, soul travel, reincarnation ( called something else) and eventually a preoccupation with the lives of the dead- spirit baptism for deceased souls- even long-dead historical personalities- all gravitate in this direction, only Ghosts aren"t effected by gravity or they could not walk through walls, right? Mormons do not believe in ghosts, as in the things that haunt you and roam the earth after death with unfinished business.

They do believe in life after death, and that after death the spirits of the dead may visit the earth, but this would only be to give someone important information or to provide comfort, assistance, or protection. The spirits appear in the form of men, not cloudy blobs like Casper. They also believe that eventually, all men will be resurrected, (the soul will be reunited with the body after death) just as Jesus Christ was. They often refer to the "Holy Ghost", this is the same as the "Holy Spirit".

If something is haunting or does not appear to have the body of a person, it is of Satan, not a spirit pr ghost of a person.
