All I can tell you, is when I recently uncovered an alligator lizard hide (under a rock in my garden...) there were a LOT of empty snail shells around. When I see an AL today I move it into our heavily planted areas.
They eat a variety of small invertebrates, including slugs, snails, and worms. Will also eat small lizards and small mammals. Occasionally feed on bird eggs and young birds.
