Amphibians live double lives by changing colors. They also live double by changing from human to fish. This sounds odd, but by having lived human for so long, they provide their smarts when they are fish.

double lives? you mean when they can change from male to female? well if you mean this, they do it when populations of females are low, so they change to female so that they can produce more offspring.

the word amphibian means 'double life'. they are called as amphibians because they live both in land and water. frogs and salamanders are examples of amphibians
because they can survive in water as well as on land also
Amphibians are called dual life because they live in water in early age and live on land as well as in water in adult life
They live as a tadpole and as an adult.

As an example: the tadpole of a frog initially lives, breathing through gills, in water, until it changes into a small frog. The frog leaves the water, and mainly lives on land (in damp places, underneath stones, etc.) only re-entering the water to hibernate in the mud during winter, or to escape a predator, or to mate.

Amphibians have a double life because they live in both the water and on land. They start life as tadpoles, which live in the water. Then they grow legs and lungs, and begin a new life on land.

Are buffalo amphibians?

Buffalo are not amphibians. Amphibians are small, sometimes slimy creatures that can live in the water and land, both, but can only lay eggs in water. A buffalo is a very large hairy beast that is a mammal. It lives on land and sometimes wades around in water, but never lives IN water.
