Best Answer

Yes they do.

"Invest in a good heater and make sure that it comes with a thermostat. The heater should be placed at a 45 degree angle so that the heat doesn't flow directly over the thermostat. The size of the heater depends on the volume of your tank; a good guide to go by is 1 watt of heating per 1 litre of water (5 watt per 10gals). Go for a slightly more powerful heater as it will be more efficient at heating your angelfish tank, HOWEVER, keep in mind that if the heater is to strong it could overheat the water."

Since the water in a fishtank is trapped, a filter of some type is needed to remove some of the impurities from the water (regular water changes are still the best). With enough plants in a tank, the plants will filter the water. My limited experience with angelfish suggests that they prefer high-quality water and open areas to swim meaning a powered filter of some type is recommended instead of a tank filled with plants.

Yes, they can. Note that the angelfish will eat the baby livebearers when they are born, and please make sure you have plenty of room and the correct water parameters for the angelfish. A pair of angelfish need at least a 35 gallon tank to reside in. The water should be around 78F to 80F., pH 6.8 and soft. Be sure to know that they have zero tolerance for ammonia and nitrite so they need good filtration running permanently. They also need at least a 50% water change every week to allow each fish to be, overall, happy and healthy.
