The "Adam's apple" is the bony protruberance of the larynx in a male human. To the best of my knowledge, the same protruberance on a dog's larynx is not called the "Adam's apple" regardless of gender. However, both a male and a female dog do have the protruberance, as do both male and female humans - it just tends to be less pronounced in females of both species.

Some have quite discreet Adams apples (alike females do) which do not necessarily show when swallowing. Especially if the man is very fat, the adams apple may me hidden.
