They are sprayed with smoke to calm down.
Leave them alone and they'll do the same
Beekeepers use smoke to calm the bees down. They do this by making a small fire in the smoker and squeezing the bellows to make the smoke come out. When bees are frightened they send out a special scent to alarm the other bees to attack. When a beekeeper uses smoke on a beehive, the bees are no longer able to smell the alarm scent so they keep on working in the hive. ---- There is a second explanation for the use of smoke. In the distant past bees were woodland creatures, living in hollow trees. They learned that if they smelled smoke there must be fire nearby and it was possible they would have to leave their tree in a hurry and start a new colony elsewhere. To prepare for this they would go to the honey stores and swallow as much as they could ready to take it to the new nest. That instinct is still there, so smoked bees fill themselves with honey which results in two things: like you after a big meal they tend to be more calm and not be rushing around; and, with their stomachs full, they find it difficult to bend their abdomen down in order to sting. Both of these make it easier to work on the hive.
because when people get angry they take it out on other people so when they smoke they calm down
you need a torch to smoke the bees to calm them down thenyou can harvest the honey comb.(note:if you just try to grab it then your sim will get stung and slap the bee and kinda jump up and down like an idiot.) :)
Beekeepers use smoke. It doesn't make the bees sleepy, but it does calm them. Originally bees were a woodland insect, living in holes in trees. When they sensed smoke it meant only one thing: forest fire. Their reaction was to gorge themselves with honey and be ready to fly off to find a new home if it became necessary. When a beekeeper puffs a little smoke into the hive, the ancient instinct kicks in and the bees gorge on honey. The result is the bees are calmer and more docile, and less able to bend the abdomen down to use their sting. Probably rather like we feel after a heavy meal.

This is because honey harvesters wear protection all over their bodies. If they did not have this protection, they will most definitely get stung. Another thing to remember is that when you get stung, gut garlic in half and spread it on the sting. They also use smoke, to calm the bees down.
they are most likely addicted to cigarettes. addiction is a very hard thing to beat. they may also smoke to calm themselves down.
