The larger tires would actually go slower, as you would have less revolutions over a distance than the smaller tires.

As far the performance of the vehicle, theoretically, if the rear end gears remained the same, the car would have a higher overall top speed with the larger tires... however, that's before you factor in the higher drag coefficient, decreased power-to-weight ratio caused by the heavier wheels and tires, and also where the engine's power band is.

Does a car with bigger tires go faster?

does a car go fast with bigger tires?I think its all about how the mileage is it doesn't need big tires every car goes the same that's if theres nothing wrong with it!! - That's the worst answer ever. It doesn't even make sense or answer the question. There's a trigonometric formula for circles that proves that a larger circle (tire) will have more rotational velocity. There's a reason you don't see high performance cars with 15 inch tires. There are other things to take into consideration. Having giant tires won't inherently make your car faster, but they are a factor. Your speedometer will read slower then your actual speed with larger tires if you don't recalibrate it.

Why does a car have a top speed?

It cant just accelerate to the endless, at some point a car's power wouldn't be powerfull enought to go faster, because the air gets thicker the faster you go, and the car looses grip, this is why high performance cars needs a powerfull engine, great aerodynamics and good tires.
