Cheetahs are members of the cat family. Cats are the strictest meat eaters in the order Carnivora (which includes dogs, bears, weasels, etc). Cats do still eat a tiny amount of particular plants, though it is rare.

The gut of the prey animals, however, is usually the cheetah's favorite part of a kill. By eating the gut, they get a small amount of partially predigested grass and other vegetation.
