Most materials which exhibit a spontaneous magnetisation (ie a lump of it can act as a magnet without you doing anything) lose this property above a certain temperature. However, if you're reasonably far below this temperature, as iron is at room temperature, making it colder probably won't make much difference (though at extremely low temperatures all kinds of odd thing can happen).
The most powerful magnetic fields used at the moment though are not generated by a magnetic material, but by running a current through a superconducting coil. In order for all known materials to superconduct, they do have to be cooled to a very low temperature.
nope
Permanent magnets can be purchased from sites such as Magnet Sales and PML India. A permanent magnet is more resistant to factors that would demagnetise it than regular magnets.
Man-made or Synthetic magnets are stronger than natural magnets and have many uses including alternative medicine (magnet therapy for Arthritis & Rheumatism), fridge/car magnets, they are also widely used in manufacturing. Made from a Nickle, Aluminium and cobalt (AlNiCo) compound they are magnetized by placing them in a machine which produces a strong electromagnetic field.
yes.in bigger magnets there are more magnetisom This is not true! In many cases larger magnets are stronger than smaller ones but not in all. I urge you to do research on reputable sites which can offer accurate answers to your questions. Magnet strength and effectiveness rely on size, age, gauss ratings as well as several other aspects. But do not take my word, please research further.
There are many applications of permanent magnets. Many children's toys have magnets to hold parts together, for example small trains. There was a game called pick-up sticks done with magnets.Apple Computer Co uses magnets to hold the power supply to laptops to help prevent damage when disconnecting the cord.Hard drives have magnets as part of the movement mechanism. Some of the more highly efficient motors and generators have permanent magnets. Also note that motors and generators can be made to be brushless to prevent the wear and maintenance on the brushes, often using permanent magnets. Windmill Generators.Blackberry uses a magnet to sense when the cell phone is in the cradle and to shut off the screen of their cell phones.Refrigerator Magnets.Removable Signs & Labels.javascript:void(0);Compasses.Parts Retrievals.Screwdrivers and tools that hold onto the screws.Simple clasps on purses, cases, etc.The uses of various types of magnets are almost endless.
Cold. If magnets get overheated, they can cease to work all-together.
No, some are more powerful than others, as there are your normal refrigerator magnets that hold a few sheets of paper and there are super electromagnets that can hold cars.
because it is bigger than the little magnets and has more power than the little magnets do.
Of course., they can.. What matters is how much is magnetic power (being more specific, electrically magnetic flux.). The attraction between two magnets is tremendously high with higher flux density magnets. (if you are more interested to know about, can browse for neodymium magnets!).
Nickel is used more in magnets
Power trimmers do save much more time than normal trimmers, but are more difficult to maintain.
permanent magnets and wound stators (temporary magnets) can be used inthe generators and motors. in small size generators (eg: dynamo in cycle),permanent magnets are used because, 1 it does not require electricity to magnetise 2 does not require stator cooling but in larger size generators and motors, temporary magnets are prefered because, 1 it is small in size of same power permanent magnets 2 we can control the stator magnetic field by adjusting the power 3 the magnetic flux density per square cm is more etc..
bigger magnets. 'cus bigger magnets have more force(also so called as attraction) . thus, smaller magnets have less attraction.
There is no "normal size". The size depends on the design power level, the more power it is designed to generate the larger the plant will usually be.
I think magnets are used more around the house becuz u put them on refrigerators
Generally, magnets are available in quantities as low as two dozen. The more magnets you purchase and personalize, the cheaper rate you can receive for buying more.
Your normal electric power is made to power all of your household. A generator requires much more maintenance, so if you have the option of using normal electric power, there is much less hassle. The generator can be kept for emergencies.
