It is an instinct they have. Like, when somebody it drowning, the dolphins has an instinct to help him/her.
Another way dolphins know how to help is because they know there habitat and what is dangerous.So, for example, if you are being attacked by a shark. And a dolphins sees you, most likely there going to rescue you, because they know your in trouble. Also, dolphins get back up for extra help, all they do it screech (making dolphin sounds) and more dolphins come. Interesting dolphins are stronger than sharks, only one dolphin needs to be there because one dolphin can fight it off with their nose... its extremly strong, their nose.
