Dolphins are social mammals, living in groups called pods. But they are not just friendly to other dolphins, they are also known to protect humans from sharks by swimming around the human or charging at the shark to make them leave.

Dolphins have been known to show cultural behavior, a trait that was thought to be unique only to humans, which may be why they are so intelligent.

Another reason why they are so friendly to humans is because their curious of us. Of course, a dolphin being curious isn't always a good thing. When dolphins get to close to boats, they can get caught in a net injured by a propellers from a boat.

Dolphins are a wonderful part of Earth. They are beautiful, amazing, and graceful. They can preform various stunts and tricks. Dolphins have some similarities with humans that not even apes have. Dolphins' brains are highly complex, and they have saved humans numerous times. Although no one is quite sure why dolphins save humans' lives, they do.

I have had a deep passion and interest with dolphins. I have wanted to learn everything I can about them. I have grown to love them, and I found that they are very intelligent creatures. They are a part of this world, yet so many people abuse and kill them. We must protect our dolphins from these cruel people. They can help us so much. That is why we should save them.

I think it's simply because Dolphins have complex brains. Any creature which can think beyond its basic needs / actions would try to help out other creatures in distress, as long as it doesn't put them in mortal danger. Dolphins are not threatened by sharks, and with their level of brain power, they can probably tell that the Humans are, so why not help them. I think the basic answer here is that Dolphins DO have complex brains.

Dolphins live in groups, and are constantly looking out for one another, they can sense distress and it is in their instinct to protect. Humans intrigue dolphins for some reason, and thus when dolphins sense that humans are in danger, they would try their best to help us.

Yes, dolphins can save people. They can do that by pushing them out of the water for the people to breath, or dragging or pushing the people out to shore. Dolphins are my FAVORITE animals in the whole entire world.

Dolphins don't "protect" us, but they are considered to be friendly towards us. In many stories or fables, dolphins save humans in shipwrecks, but that never happens in real life. Long ago, humans used to think that dolphins protected and saved us, but now we know that that is barely ever true.
