Yes, eggs do take off car paint if you dont have a good finish or surface wax. Especially if you don't get it off right away. I have a 1979 Ford bronco that I had just finished second coating and hadn't sealed or waxed yet. It got egged on the tailgate and within 12 hours most of the paint that was dry had peeled off as I washed off the egg.
