I't could be OK and it could not, if the poo is red that means that possibly im not saying for sure but it could be blood, or it could just be what it has ate, possibly it could have ate something red and it didn't digest all the way. But no matter what I would recommend calling the vet.

∙ 11y agoI can think of two reasons for this to happen:
First, the animal might have eaten something with a strong red dye - for example, beetroot. Observe the animal and ensure a regular diet of hay and grass. If the animal behaves normally and the droppings' coloring disappears, don't worry (but keep an eye on it).
The second reason would be blood in the stool. You should probably take it to a vet. The vet is unlikely to be able to do much about a possible bowel infection, for example, but might be able to administer antibiotics to prevent spreading of that infection.
Blood in the droppings would make them appear black if case of an internal injury fairly high up within the bowels. If the droppings are colored red by blood, the blood is likely to come from near the anus. You might be able to see blood, or even an injury, if you can take a good and close look at the animal's abdomen.
