Yes. It is a vital part of their diet. It provides fibre, vitamins and minerals and keeps their teeth healthy. Their diet should be 90% hay.

I don't know if I'd say a lot, but guinea pigs do eat a type of hay called timothy hay.

no timothy hay is the best for them

Three basic foods that guinea pigs must have 24/7 include:1. Fresh Water2. Fresh Hay3. Guinea pig pelletsPellets are NO substitute for a hay.

No, not at all hay helps a guinea pigs digestive system, my two are constantly eating hay :) hope this helped x

As it is edible for them and helps wear down their teeth. People feed timothy hay to guinea pigs that aren't pregnant or young as if you give a normal guinea pig alfalfa hay (which is for pregnant guinea pigs and young guinea pigs), it will be too high in calcium (I think) which is bad for them.

guinea pigs eat timothy hay to wear their teeth down that continue to grow throught their lives. when a guinea pigs teeth are overgrown it becomes hard to eat and the guinea pig will eventually starve to death.

Siberian guinea pigs eat the same things as other guinea pigs, hay (as their 'daily bread'), grains, grass, carrots and cucumber.

usually hay they eat it to that is why it disappears

no they still need the hay for extra nutrients

no. they eat timothy hay and dry pellet food

They should have an unlimited supply of hay making up 90% of their diet. They should also get 2-3 large handfuls of fresh veg each day and a small egg cup of pellets. Do not give them muesli as this encourages them to waste the bits they don't like and only eat the high starch and sugar bits leading to an unbalanced diet.

Guinea pigs shuoldnt eat paper! they eat hay every day.

a guinea pig will eat atleast 8 oz. per day.Guinea pigs don't eat much pellet foods, but they should eat a small amount (about a cup full) of cut of fruit and veg twice a day. They should always have hay (preferably timothy hay) available which guinea pigs will usually eat a lot of. They should have this everyday.

Hay,Carrots,Paprika, and more. I don't no what your guinea pigs like to eat. But guinea pigs may Veggies and fruit, bread and more. Don't give your guinea pigs something that sweet is.

My little cavies get hay poke all the time and we simply pick them up, get a pair of tweezers and take the hay out. It does harm the guinea pigs a little bit but is much more painful when left in their eye for a long period of time. always look at your guinea pigs very closely everyday to make sure they are okay.

It can. Guinea pigs have differentnutritionalneeds than hamsters. Guinea pigs need a diet high in vitamin C. Also guinea pigs can choke on nuts and seeds. Best to stick with guinea pig food for guinea pigs. Try to avoid food with seeds andkernelseven if it isadvertisedfor guinea pigs as it is best to stick with pellets. Guinea pigs have a differentdigestivesystem opposed to hamsters. Be sure to have hay available for guinea pigs for them to graze when they want. Timothy hay is the main part of their diet.AlfalfaHay is best left to baby guinea pigs as it has highcalcium. Orchard hay is well liked among guinea pigs.

yes they can. But they CANT eat the same pellets

YES they are not hamsters who store food

Yes, guinea pigs can eat peaches.Generally, guinea pigs will eat anything they think smell good. The answer is yes.... guinea pigs will eat whatever they want. But I think you want to know are peaches healthy for guinea pigs they will eat it because they think they're sweet. Although guinea pigs like peaches doesn't mean that should be a replacement for food. They're diet is mainly greens, carrots, food pellots (guinea pig food), and timothy hay.

Hay helps guinea pigs (and rabbits) with their teeth. It helps keep them nice and trim, you must provide your guinea pig with an unlimited supply of hay everyday.

Guinea Pigs eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, and grasses. Their diet mostly consists of hay, but they also eat carrots, lettuce, apples, and all sorts of fruits and veggies. Guinea Pigs can not eat iceberg lettuce or broccoli though. Also any cooked or fried foods are not good for guinea pigs.

go to petmart or petco. and ask for guinea pig hay it's green and white... the only reson i know is because i have 2 of them

Guinea pigs and rabbits both eat hay based pellet diets (though guinea pigs require vitamin C to be added to their diets because their bodies do not produce it in sufficient ammounts).

no guinea pigs do not eat bread

Usually alfalfa hay is used for young pigs and pregnant sows. It has a lot of calcuim, so they need it. Adult guinea pigs are best to have a good bowl of pellets and all the timothy hay they can eat!
