The medications for HIV are not used for herpes. Herpes treatments include acyclovir, famcyclovir, and valacyclovir.
Also, keep in mind that all of these medications (those used for AIDS as well as those used for Herpes-Simplex Virus infections) have side effects that should be taken into consideration. This would be a good discussion to have with your primary care physician.
