Yes, though it is an uncertain thing, but in general, I believe that they do. Arthritis that comes with age causes the bones to ache, and maybe even to swell, and I believe that the knuckles are not an exception.

Whether certain people's knuckles swell/grow larger is relative one's personal lifestyle, but cracking them may very well increase the size of your knuckles later on, if not just hasten the arthritis in them alone.
