It is possible, and it isn't possible. It would be nice to know exactly what tree it is that you are talking about, but there is a 99% chance that it will lose its leaves. Some trees never lose their leaves, though.

No, not all trees lose their leaves. Some trees their leaves all year round. They are called evergreens because they are always, or forever, green. They include spruces and pines, as well as cedars and firs.

Apparently yes. I have a neighbor who's 30 foot palm tree fell during a strong windstorm two weeks ago. It left a half to a foot stump behind! yes with extreme winds and when rotted.

The fronds do die, and some fall off. Best to trim them, as if left to rot , will attrct rats to nest in them.

Depends on the species of palm. Species such as the date palm (Phoenix dactylifera) can live up to 80 years, and the Canary Island Palm (Phoenix canariensis) to at least 120 years. Some other species will only live a few years, such as the Bamboo palm (Chrysalodocarpus), which is multi-stemmed, each stem only survives for about 4 years before dying and being replaced by new stems.
