Snowmobiles. Since the introduction of snowmobiles in the 1950s & 60s they have taken the place of sled dogs. Today sled dogs are mostly used for endurance racing, not as working dogs.
Most people did them for hobbies to do in Alaska. After awhile people got to notice they could help people.
