No, it isn't one direction, otherwise there would not have been vibration at all!

In normal light, the electric field vibrates in planes which are perpendicular to the direction that the wave is moving.

In polarised light, the electric field vibrates in only one plane which is perpendicular to the direction that the wave is moving..

(3 dimension has been considered in the answer; this is why plane(s) have been used in the answer)

When light reflects off nonmetallic surfaces such as glass water or a road surface the light is polarized The reflected light consists of waves which are vibrating in a direction par?

Polarized light has waves that vibrate only in one direction, or more in one direction than in others. For example, more "up-down" vibrations than "left-right" vibrations or anything in between.

What does Polarized light vibrates in?

For plane polarized light the electric vector of the light ray is allowed to vibrate in a single plane, producing a simple sine wave with a vibration direction lying in the plane of polarization - this is termed plane light or plane polarized light.

What is the Difference between polarized light and ordinary light?

unpolarized light = light waves vibrate in more than one plane Polarized light = vibrations of light waves occur in a single plane.

Uses of plane polarized light?

hey guys this is pooja.....the answer is that it is used to detect the optical activity of a plane polarised light...!! my question: is polarisation of light by dichroism there in 2009 isc syllabus of physics.?? pls let me know...ok? thanks....do reply if u r reading my question....thanks...!! urs pooja Hey Pooja. I might be able to help. :) It is about the vibration be represented by a "sin" wave. Its unpolarised energy radiates from all direction. when plane polarized vibrate in a single plane of direction from the source. Hope this helps.

Light reflected from water is strongly polarized in the horizontal direction How would you design sunglasses for a ship pilot who needs to see objects on the water surface?

use filters that transmit only vertically polarized light

Light waves that vibrate in only one plane are called what?

Light waves that vibrate in only one plane are called polarized.

Light waves usually vibrate in all directions but what allows only light vibrating in a certain direction to pass through?

polarized light

What is it when all light waves vibrate in the same plane?

It's polarized light

Does Polarized light occurs when light waves vibrate in all directions?

Yes

Ordinary light waves vibrate in all directions light that vibrates only in a specific plane is said to be?

"polarized"

What direction do light waves vibrate in?

The electric and magnetic field vibrate perpendicular to the direction in which the light wave propagates (and perpendicular among themselves). Light is thus a transverse wave.

What is the light that vibrates in only one direction after passing through a filter is?

Polarized light.

What has particles that vibrates at right angles to the direction of the wave?

Photons oscillate (vibrate) along an axis that is perpendicular to the direction of the photon's travel. Photons are responsible for all electromagnetic radiation, including visible light, invisible light (infrared and ultraviolet), X-rays, radio waves, and magnetic waves. . When all photons in a beam of light oscillate in same direction, that is called polarized light.
