praying mantises [mantids?] need only a light misting of their cage-they get most of their moisture from their pray. To much humidity in their cage isn't good for them, though.

Yes, they do. I found one in my garden and I gently misted one of my plants with pure water. It came out of hiding and drank the fine droplets of water.

Yes they can, but not tap water - bottled water only as it has no chemicals. Mine drink from a spoon.

Typically they get it from the fluids of their prey. They can also consume it directly from water droplets.
