Quite possibly they do save money simply because one utensil will do the job of a knife, fork and spoon.
They also fail to offer guidance to children on the correct use of knives, forks and spoons. We are seeing a generation of children growing up unable to eat at a table with a knife and fork.
In times gone by, a school played a part in teaching children how to behave in the world as well as academic topics. Etiquette was once instilled into students with examples being set by the school, the staff and the rules of behavior. Now it seems, as long the kids get food into their mouths, no one cares how they do it.
Rant over.
