Werewolves and VampiresNO, they are not real -There is no evidence to suggest that vampires and werewolves do exist, have existed or will ever exist.
To clarify this answer. Werewolves and vampires don't exist in the sense of Dracula or Jacob from Twilight .
There are people who are really hairy, but they don't change into wolves on full moons or die from the slightest touch of silver. Just hairy people.
Same goes for vampires- There are Vampire bats, but they can't transform into people. There are people who drink blood, even human blood, but they are aberrations of society and a bit nuts, not really TRUE vampires.
They are mortal and can be killed and don't require a stake to the heart or immersion in sunlight/water to do so. They also are just human, no magical powers that let them turn into mists or bats. They are just humans with a distorted perception of reality, longing for power or attention.
YES, They are Real-The legends of immortal blood-sucking humans have been around for centuries, as have Wolf creatures of the night, whether you are Celtic, Roman, or an animist, most cultures and religions have a belief in an evil animal/man/demon creature who wreaks havoc on local populations. So If it's just a myth why can this common creature be found across cultures, throughout time...
Additional Opinions:- Biologically, I don't see how it would be possible to go from a mere human, to a massive wolf, bone structures for both creatures do not work. Your bones cannot make that shift, so Werewolves do not exist.
- Vampires only exist to the extent that there are a species of bat called vampire bats, that feed off blood, but they can't change into humans.
- Some are real. The vast majority of vampires are really pretentious
- Well you just need to believe in them, you can imagine that all things like that exist but I'm sure they're real, because it's not us that need to imagine them, it's other people that need to believe in them. Oh! And between you and me, a vampire lives next to my house, I don't know him but he sure does scare me!
- yes, werewolves are real. Most real werewolves do not go around killing everyone. Most people do not know what werewolves are really like. We aren't marauding killers that Hollywood and myths have made us. We are something smarter and much deeper than killers. A Werewolf is a person that is believed to transform into a wolf. The change traditionally happens on a full moon. The person either becomes a half-human/half-wolf creature, or changes completely to a wolf. The person has complete control of all senses. Werewolves are usually never implied to kill Humans unless they are some kind of evil Werewolf, or have to defend themselves.
- There is a mental disorder in which people believe they are lycanthropes (werewolves) and behave accordingly. It's not common. Meanwhile, as to "children raised by wolves," they usually turn out to be developmentally disabled children who have been abandoned by or have run away from their human parents. *However, to answer your question, yes they are real. They are not evil. There are other types of werebeasts too.
A werewolf is an animal from folklore which can change from human to wolf and back again and is believed to consume human flesh or blood. (Wer is an Old English term for man.) While there are no documented cases of any human turning into a wolf and back, there are documented cases of humans who believed they were werewolves. To suffer from such a delusion is known as lycanthropy.
- Some have speculated that certain excessively hairy individuals resemble wolves and that the legend of the werewolf may have a basis in the genetic disorder known as hypertrichosis or in some other endocrine disorder, such as adrenal virilism, basophilic adenoma of the pituitary, masculinizing ovarian tumors, or Stein-Leventhal syndrome.
- I think that vampires and werewolves do exist. But I don't think that they want to be noticed by humans because I'm quite sure that any of you will be scared, and will tell to his/her friends about "the creature". And this leads to scientists, who, I'm sure, will be more than happy to find one of them. That's way they don't want to be labeled by 'vampire' or 'werewolf'. Have you seen "Being Human"? It's a TV show Now, this is my opinion. I don't want to make anyone to think like me, but honestly now; if you were a vampire or a werewolf, wold you like to be a science subject? I would not like it. And of course, I wish to see one of them in flash and bones, but I don't know if this will be ever possible.
- There has been piles on piles of evidence to prove that vampires have existed and still do - same with werewolves ! but the vampires do not look like the vampires in twilight - the dont have white pale faces or dont speak to anyone - they are very social. If you became friends with one - you would not even have a clue that they were vampires unless they told you. And werewolves are similar apart from the fact that they will NEVER go out in the night, they just stay home. But they DEFINITELY do exist !
- In reality there is very little proof that either Vampire or Werewolf exist, and what evidence does exist is flimsy at best and easy to disprove. There are individuals however who do take on a lifestyle similar to vampires and werewolves, and some do claim that they need blood to survive or that the full moon affects them, although it is difficult to verify if they are genuine. Most likely they are not truly the species that they claim to be. There are non-human animals however such as the "Vampire Bat" which does 100% exist. I can't recall if there are any animals which are similar to werewolves however.
