Unfortuantly for the spider, Yes they can, Praying Mantids will go for anything smaller than they are, and occasionally will attack, kill, and devour rodents, birds, frogs, snakes, flies, crickets, worms, caterpillars, etc. But I suggest making sure that spider's venom doesn't harm the mantid ^^
