I think we have to be careful with any of this technology but so much is uncertain and not researched that we never seem to get an accurate answer. If this is something you use all day in your job then you have every right to question it and see if they have any proven medical research that shows it is safe. If not then I would think they should be able to provide you with some kind of apron to wear to protect you from the rays.
