well they do not know that there puppies died like my dog she was having her puppy and it was trying to get some air but it could not get some air so it died then it came out it was dead and my dog thought it was alive and she was trying to feed. i cried it felt sad so your answer is they try to take care of it.

if the wolves are starving they may do that like every other animal. there has been proved cases of humans eating their babies in times of starvation as well. however terrible as it may seem, it is a natural response in a desperate situation. Some father animals eat their living babies but this not include wolves. It is more common with bigger cats and bears. Wolves are extremely family oriented animals much like dogs, dolphins, and humans, and are that much less likely to eat their babies because of it.
