Obviously I've never heard it so I cannot give an anwer in terms of first hand experience. However I can layout the process. First the body is paralysed and shortly after 'everything begins to shut down' or so to speak. It if often said to be a peaceful way of going. However this is only the case due to the fact you cannot see the persons reaction to the injection due to paralysis. In actual fact it is believed the body goes through 'internal armageddon'.
So yeah...you could say it hurts.
It can be painful if done wrong. Luckily it's very difficult to mess it up. There are mainly three drugs used.
1) Sodium thiopental - this is an anesthesia
2) Pancuronioum bromide - this is a paralyzing drug
3) Potassium chloride - this causes cardiac arrest
If the first drug is not administered properly then when the second drug kicks in, they wont be able to express pain although they will feel it once the third drug is given. Cardiac arrest is extremely painful if the person is not properly anesthetized. But that's pretty hard to mess up; there is a range of other drugs used to ensure that this does not happen due to the line being clotted or worn off too quickly. Not to mention that the needle used is a 14G (which is huge) and that means that these drugs are pumped in rather quickly to reduce a time lapse. This process has been botched before; the IV line was not actually IV, but went straight into the prisoners muscles. This caused the death to take 34 minutes and be very painful. Obviously the person who did that was fired, but many procedures can be taken to ensure that this does not happen ever again. So as long as the executioner knows what they're doing, there is no pain at all, you just go to sleep.
No, beyond the pin prick of the needle breaking the skin the poison in it is not painful. The individual effectivly "falls asleep", enteres into a coma and dies when the organs shut down.
Answer:
Studies have shown that the three part lethal injection as used in the US can be quite painful. The first part of the set is a paralytic, the second an anaesthetic and the third the poison. If step two doesn't work the pain of the poison is intense but the victim is unable to callout or move as he suffers.
Probably, but it's impossible to know for sure.
It's not like we can ask the people who've had it done to them.
no the idea is for it to be painless
a lethal injection
I believe not. In Texas, years ago, our execution method was changed from the electric chair to lethal injection on the grounds that electrocution was cruel and unusual. If I understand lethal injection , there is no pain involved. The only question is that of whether or not execution itself is cruel or unusual. Is it unusual? No. People have been executed through the ages and will be executed for all time to come. Is it cruel? I say no. There is no pain inolved.
by gettin a needle full of extremely deadly poison that causes extreme pain and injecting them
Because cruel and unusual punishment is both unconstitutional and morally impermissible - by swabbing the arm they dull the pain of the needle insertion, as the injection itself is not designed to cause physical pain.

Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it. Drinking pentobarbital would cause severe stomach cramps and vomiting, a great deal of pain, and may or may not be lethal.
because they feel that the pain they are going through is too much and they need to make themselves feel a different pain that they can control, sort of a way to gain control back of their life but if taken too far it can be lethal...
This is a controversial subject as capital punishment in general is a system being scrutinized. However, there tends to be a shift towards making capital punishment as humane as possible. In America right now, lethal injection has been given much support for being quick and painless... and therefore seen as more humane. However, new data has shown that a person put through lethal injection can still feel feel pain. It is now being criticized as well for being an inhumane method of capital punishment. Much more information can be found in the wikipedia site, if searched Capital Punishment.
Chickens may feel pain during the cutting? It suffers until the blood has finally gone.
usually, no. even historically, common methods of execution were meant to be quick and as painless as possible. hanging, done right, is so quick you are dead before any pain could register. lethal injection uses Sodium thiopental as an anesthetic. however, there are examples, both historical and modern, of executions gone wrong. from hangings going on until strangulation, to men being lit on fire while screaming in the electric chair, all the way to violent fits induced by the drugs of lethal injection.
