Prejudice is not racism as we are all, to one degree or another, prejudice but not all of us are racists. If your favorite color is red, this is your prejudice but does that make you colorist? Should we love all colors equally as we should each other? If you do not like tuna fish would that necessarily make you a food bigot? Racism, on the other hand, is a belief system that holds that we are all who we are based on our genetics, and given the variance in genes, there are those who have superior genes over others. This belief system is provably false, yet those who hold it can not be reasoned with. Having a favorite food or color is not a belief system but merely a preference or prejudice.

Sexism is an entirely different matter and is much more a political movement than some deeply held conviction. Sexism, more times than not is a term used to describe mens attitudes towards women. It is rare that a zealous feminist who hates men is referred to as a sexist. In fact, the Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary defines sexism as such:

"Prejudice or discrimination based on sex; especially discrimination against women."

The term itself came about in the 1970's coined by the feminist movement. There is, however a term all ready in the dictionary that describes such behavior and that word is misogyny. This term has been around since 1620 and is simply defined as one who hates women. There has been a long history of women being subjected to the authority of men, and movements such as the suffragette movement of the early 1900 is clear evidence that women had suffered an inequality under the law that should have never been. This is not to say that women were not able to rise to power before the suffragette movement as Queen Elizabeth in the 1600's serves as just one example of a woman who rose to power and held deep respect from those who served under her.

Are there still misogynists today? Indeed there are? Are there women who hate men? Indeed there are. Is sexism still a problem today? Of course there is! How would men like it if they had to go through all that women do and did? They'd hate it!!! Anyone who thinks that sexism isn't a problem in today's society is sexist. It is a even larger problem than the current credit "crisis". Even if aliens attacked the planet tommorow, and killed everyone, THIS IS STILL A BIGGER CRISIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is racism still a problem today? Indeed it is and the genocides we hear so much about is evidence of this problem. Rwanda, Serbia, and Nazi Germany are just a few examples of deeply rooted this flawed theory of racism is.
