Do you have to sign for a package sent through USPS first class mail international?

I don't think you have to sign, but they're supposed to deliver it to an actual person (not just put it in the mailbox or leave it on the doorstep). I actually just received two packages that had delivery confirmation on them, though, and the mail delivery person just put them in the mailbox. In the past, I had a package that had delivery confirmation that I had to pick up at the post office because no one was home when they tried to deliver it. I guess it depends on who's delivering it, and the process doesn't seem to be standardized among different post offices and employees.

The person who sends express mail has the option to not have it signed for if they wish. The mail carrier will sign for it and leave it in the mailbox. The person who mailed it can still track it by the bar code on their copy of the shipping label.

If the Commercial or individual sender requests delivery conformation, then yes somebody would be required to sign for the parcel. Normally, though, priority mail does not require the recipient to sign for it.
