you can do both one by cuonting thread on rocker studs you should see about 4 to 5 two you can start engine tighten down till clatter stops then half turn back
According to alldata 13-15 ft lbs of torque are needed for the rocker arms. The engine does not need to be at TDC and it also does not have to be running.
There is no adjustment. If you have the type of rocker arms with lock nuts, the best way is while engine is running tighten to 0 lash (rocker is no longer making a tapping noise) than go an additional 1/2 turn. If you have regular nuts there is no adj. torque nuts to 25 ft. lbs
20 foot pounds
22 ft lbs torque on the rocker arm nuts is all that is required.
There are no adjustments on a stock Pontiac valvetrain. You simply torque them to 20 ft lbs. Pontiac did not use locking rocker arm nuts. Any attempt to adjust them like you do a Chevy will result in the rocker nuts backing off.
on a '95 300 straight 6 with rocker arm bolts, not studs with nuts, the torque spec is between 17 and 23 foot lbs. if it has studs with nuts it is older and the specs are different so you will need to research that more.
The Chevrolet 350 engine (1967-2003) uses adjustable hydraulic lifters that are individually adjusted by means of the rocker arm nut. The rocker arm nuts are not torqued down. Typically the rocker is tightened down to 0 lash then the rocker nut is turned in one full additional turn.
It means you are crazy or "nuts."
I'm not sure which engine you have in your blazer. Some of the later engines do not use adjustable rocker arms. You torque them down to 20 foot pounds. Check to make sure your engine isn't one of these. You may also try installing new nuts. For a higher dollar fix, you can also go to a rocker nut known as a poly lock.
There are no provisions for valve adjustments on this engine. Tighten rocker arm nuts to 20 ft lbs torque and you're done.
The torque for the lug nuts on a cat backhoe 426c depend on what size the lug nuts are; for 1/2 lug nuts the torque should be around 80; for 9/16 lug nuts the torque should be around 140.
