No, but she gets turned in the 4th book. When she gets pregnant with a half-vampire and half-human baby, She is turned into a vampire after going into labor because her body is not strong enough to live after giving birth to "Reneseme". Edward is the one to turn her. Hope this isn't giving anything away!

No, she turns into a vampire in the last book, Breaking Dawn.but however in twilight she falls in love with edward, in new moon he leaves her because he feels that if she becomes a vampire(which she is bugging him about) that she will lose her soul (he believes once a vampire you are never yourself), in eclipse victoria (sorry should have said this earlier but in twilight when there playing a Baseball game these vampires come and one catches bella's scent and so they run becausehe's a tracker and he never stops for what he's after so at the end the tracker james dies and victoria wants revenge because she loved him and she wants to kill bella mate for mate). so in eclipse jacob and bella kiss and victoria is killed by edward< and finally in breaking dawn edward and bella get married, have sex,have there daughter rennesme and the volturi come to kill them but it all works out P.S. you should read the series and when you get to breaking dawn if you read the series at the sex part they don't go into detail hope that helped
