Does Costa Rica send any people to the Olympics?

Yes, Costa Rica first competed in the Summer Olympics in 1936 and has competed in every Summer Games since 1964. Costa Rica has also competed in 5 Winter Olympics (1980, 1984, 1988, 1992, 2006). Costa Rica has won 4 Olympic medals (1 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze), all in the Summer Games: 1) Silvia Poll - silver in women's 200 meter freestyle in 1988.

2) Claudia Poll - gold in women's 200 meter freestyle in 1996, bronze in women's 200 meter and 400 meter freestyle in 2000. Silvia and Claudia are sisters.
