I use gear lube, but check the owners manual or call a mechanic they would be able to tell you for sure The manufacturer recommended fluid is either HONDA MTF (manual transmission fluid) or an alternative is an SF-rated motor oil in a 10W30 or 10W40 viscosity. So yes, you can use a regular motor oil like Castrol, Pennzoil, or Valvoline 10W30. However, the preferred fluid is Honda MTF. For synthetic upgrades, other options include Amsoil 5W30 Synchromesh Fluid, Royal Purple Synchromesh Fluid, or Redline MTL. It is NOT recommended to use typical gear oils like 75W90 or 80W90. The viscosity is not compatible with the Honda manual transmissions. I used Royal Purple 10W-30 in mine and it works just fine..... BUT, I will be upgrading to RP Synchromesh Fluid. == == == == == == == == == == == ==
Yes, but it is internal and does not get changed except during overhaul. Make sure you use compatible fluid..Honda Z1 ATF..I use Amsoil's Universal Synthetic...high quality that meets Honda's spec!
* Chrysler synchomesh fluid #4874464 * Penzoil Synchromesh Fluid #18106 * Quakerstate Synchromesh Fluid #59634 * GM synchromesh fluid #12345349 * GM synchromesh fluid 12345577 * Havoline MTX fluid #1874
You have a T5 transmission, if she was mine I would run AMSOIL Synthetic Synchromesh Transmission Fluid (MTF)
The recommended transfer case fluid is a SJ-rated 5W30 viscosity oil. One example would be Amsoil 5W30 Synchromesh Fluid. The vehicle requires approximately 1.35 quarts of transfer case fluid.
Synchromesh Manual Transmission Fluid
I used Royal Purple ATF. Much better shifting afterwards. And meets Honda specs. Amsoil would also work.
Use only genuine Honda ATF-Z1 automatic transmission fluid and nothing else. Do not use any other fluid that claims to be compatible.
synchromesh its a dealer only fluid.
Use only genuine Honda ATF DW-1. Do not use any other fluid that claims to be compatible.
