Normally no. It will not pay for infant circumcision as that is not a necessary medical procedure. It will not pay for any circumcision done for cosmetic reasons. However, Medicaid will cover circumcision when it is medically necessary, for example when an adult male has phimosis, a chronic constriction of the foreskin that prevents normal functioning of the penis.

No. If you have Medicaid you will have to pay cash for the full cost of the procedure unless your doctor says it is medically necessary, for example for the treatment of phimosis (tight foreskin).

No, like medicaid in almost every state, circumcision is not covered under North Carolina medicaid. The only situation in which circumcision would be covered is in males over 12 years of age with a tight foreskin that can not be retracted (phimosis). No medical association recommends circumcision, and most doctors recommend against routine circumcision because it can have serious complications after the procedure including infection and complications from anesthesia.

No. Circumcision is not covered because it is not a medically necessary procedure. If you have Medicaid and want you son circumcised you will have to pay cash for the full cost of the procedure, usually anywhere from $2,000 to $3,000.
