ambien does not contain opiates. if it did, it would be in a schedule 2 controlled substance list. Ambien is a controlled substance number 4, which means it has a tiney chance of addiction., more like a dependency.

No, though it is similar in how it works to the anti-anxiety drugs known as Benzodiazapines. In some people Zopiclone has a relaxing effect. I can attest to this as I've been taking Zopiclone (just once nightly) for this relaxing effect now for 9 years. The only problem with this is how I feel during the day: Miserable.

Zopiclone is a very addicting drug and it is due to this relaxing effect it gives. However as with most addictive drugs, over time you are just taking it to feel normal again, while going through withdrawal between doses. Some people have ended up taking 30 pills a day because of this.

And I'm no doctor (though I play one sometimes in real life) but I wouldn't take zopiclone for longer than 1 to 2 weeks if you have insomnia... there are so many better more natural options available. I've heard from long term users who've gotten off the drug, that 2 hours of sleep is more refreshing than 8 hours of zopiclone sleep... it's more of a fake sleep.

Myself... I had never had insomnia before taking zopiclone... 9 years later I had a brain scan done and the doctor told me I had insomnia.. so Zopiclone has literately caused insomnia in me, and If I miss my dose I don't sleep at all.

So be careful.
