if by zero tolerance you mean that if the timing goes the valves will get bent then yes it is ^ that is wrong

Non Interference is that term and your engine IS NON INTERFERENCE !!

No it is not all ls motors are very reliable

No. Nothing is zero tolerance if you measure to a great enough precision.

The 2001 PT Cruiser with a 2.4 liter engine has a zero tolerance or interference engine. This means that if any of the timing components fail, the engine itself will because severely damaged.

YES !!! it is a close tolerance engin . if the timing belt snaps in drive mode the valves will bend .

The 1993 Saturn 1.9 is not an interferance engine, and has a chain, not a belt.

A 2001 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2 engine is a zero tolerance engine which will suffer catastrophic damage should the timing system fail. Because of the tight tolerances inside the engine, even being out of alignment a fraction of a second can cause the valves to slam into the pistons.

A zero tolerance law is a law that allows for no exceptions. For instance, if a state has a zero tolerance law on drinking and driving, those caught will be arrested.

no, ususally if the belt breaks, no other damage results.

It is a non-interference design if you have a 4 cylinder version

All Hyundai engines are interference engines. The belt must be replaced at 60,000 miles.

No, it is free spinning. No, it is free spinning.

if timing belt brakes while driving, will it damage motor.

The school rules state the fact of zero tolerance policy

Zero Tolerance Laws allow for no exceptions. For example, Virginia's zero tolerance law is that if a driver under the age of 21 is pulled over and is found to have any, even a trace, amount of alcohol in their system, they will be arrested.

That engine is not an interference engine, so no, the valves should not bend in the event of a timing belt break.
