can somebody help me get a diagram for a 2002 Chevy cavalier, i need the cam chain ( i need to change the timing chain) thank you
It has a chain. No maintance is needed.
The timing chain is designed to last the life of the engine.
Passenger side, next to the timing chain.
When the timing chain is bad on a 2002 Cavalier, the engine could have several symptoms. The engine could run rough, be hard to start, or not run at all.
there is no timing belt -- only a timing chain that does not need to be replaced
4 cylinders have a belt and v6 has a chain!
2005 Cavaliers have a timing chain. All Ecotec motors do, which would include all Cavaliers from 2003-2005, any Cavaliers from 2000-2002 that had the Ecotec option, as well as many other GM models.
compression? bad/worn/broken timing chain..
That engine has a timing chain and gears and will probley out last the engine. NO need to replace it.
The z24 models have a 2.4L DOHC engine. If you look at the engine,on the passenger side it is flat.A chain goes all the way around that part on the inside. The chain turns two camshafts(intake and exhaust) and the water pump. So,the answer is "no" it has a timing chain.
nobody really knows
its a timing chain
How do you remove and replace wiper switch on 2002 Chevy Cavalier
A 2002 Jeep Liberty has a timing chain.
Run a compression test. If compression in all cylinders is low, it's probably the timing chain.
