Not at all BNO Passport holder do not require visa to vist Schengen Country
I am posing exactly the same question as well, any help around...? BNO holders are allowed entry into the UK and various EU countries without a visa, but how about work permits? Cheers!

A 'full' British passport is for British Citizens. A BNO passport is for British Nationals (Overseas) - typically people from Hong Kong who were not granted full British nationality before the 1997 handover to prevent a mass exodus of immigration from Hong Kong to the UK.

What do you mean by "Europe"? The UK is part of the European Union. All you need when traveling between the UK and other parts of the European Union is a passport. Even an expired passport will be enough although make sure you check the website information for the government of the country you are visiting.

Of course, if your british and she married you, she has legal right to stay in UK now and there for she is a british national, she can apply for it.
Yes, any person who is NOT a British National needs a passport and in some cases a visa also.
