Bats are flying mammals. All mammals are vertebrates because they have a vertebral column (backbone) and internal skeleton which are some of the main characteristics of a vertebrate. Therefore, Bats are vertebrates.

Yes bats have a vertebrae it makes up their spinal cord. This allows all bats to bend their neck backwards to look around and hang straight upside down. The vertebrae is also fused together making the spinal cord rigid allowing for better flight capability.

Bats are vertebrates. They are mammals and make up almost 1/4th of all mammal species. Only rodents are more strongly represented. Bats are NOT rodents.
