Possibly, if the pitcher was large enough. Heat and temperature mean two different representations of heat energy. Heat is the absolute value, temperature is the average value. For example, a swimming pool at 25 deg C has more heat contained within it than a cup of water at 25 deg C. However the swimming pool has the same temperature as the cup of water. Since heat is based on the absolute value, which is proportional to the amount, a pitcher of lemonade may have more overall heat than a small cup of hot tea, although the temperature of the tea would be higher than the pitcher of lemonade.

What happens when energy changes form?

When energy changes form the molecules in the object become more or less densly packed. Thermal energy is also ALWAYS produced.

How can a cup of very hot tea have less thermal energy than a kettle of lukewarm water?

Even though the cup has very hot water it still has less thermal energy than the kettle because the kettle is larger than the cup therefor it has more liquid and more liquid = more molecules and the more molecules the more the heat energy ( thermal energy ) It does not matter how fast the particals are moving just how many there are , the cup has a lot less particals than the kettle so it has less thermal energy. This was wrote by an 11 year old just think about that .

2 glasses of water have the same thermal energy must they have the same temperature explain?

How you can tell is the temperature between the two liquids. If one of the liquid's temperature is warmer than the other one, then that liquid has more thermal energy.

How can you tell whether one glass of water has more thermal energy than another identical glass of water?

How you can tell is the temperature between the two liquids. If one of the liquid's temperature is warmer than the other one, then that liquid has more thermal energy.

Is thermal energy potential energy?

Radiant Energy is not potential energy. They are two different things. Radiant energy is another word to say light energy. Potential energy is when an object not moving. To be specific, an object sitting on a shelf collects kinetic energy so when you knock it over, it falls because of gravity.

How are thermal energy and temperature similare?

Temperature is what is used to measure thermal energy The more thermal energy a substance has, the more warmer it will be. So when the temperature is high, there is a lot of thermal energy Thermal energy is just energy. It refers to the energy of the molecules. Temperature is just a measurement

Is light thermal energy?

Thermal energy is not light. It is heat! Energy of heat and temperature of matter (more heat=more thermal energy=more movement of molecules) Temperature measures movement of molecules

Can electric energy produce more thermal energy?

It can be converted to thermal energy, but you can't get more energy out than you put in. The two different forms of energy must be equivalent, unless there is another source of thermal energy

What is the difference between thermal energy and kinetic energy?

Thermal energy is the energy possessed in a body due to its temperature.Hotter the substance more the thermal energy will be and vice versa. However ,kinetic energy is the energy of a body possessed in it due to its motion.Higher the velocity of body more will be the kinetic energy.
