It catches both, good and bad. The bad dreams and good dreams go through the big web, maybe the small ones to but probably the largest (make sense right) and then the dreamcatcher holds on the good dreams, sends it through the feathers and beeds or how you spell it, and drops down to the dreamer while the bad dreams flies through it and at morning when the light comes from the windows, the light kills the bad dreams and it fades away! So easier sayd, the dreamcatcher catches good dreams and sends it to the dreamer and let the bad dreams passes through and fades away at light in the morning. That is what I know.
Bad dreams are imaginary constructs: they have no existence outside the mind of the dreamer. Dream catchers do not literally "catch" dreams. They function as symbols, providing comfort and reassurance to the dreamer.
Dream catchers function in the same way as other charms or totems. The magic is in the person using the charm. The charm itself, in this case, the dream catcher, acts as a focus for the user's conscious and subconscious mind, which in turn produce the intended effects.
No, dream catchers do not make your nice dreams come true.
A dream catcher is an ornament or decoration made according to very old traditions, and given to small children to protect their dreams.
The dream catcher is created to capture the "bad" dreams in its web so that only the "good" dreams come through to you.
