a simple 2d xy line graph has only the possibility for 2 different variables (x and y). for a 3 variable graph you would have to go into a 3d xyz graph with each variable as x, y and z. it is possible to fit a line to this but for an easier analysis it is better to analyse the variables in pairs.

A multivariate graph.

Differentiate the three types of variable?

differentiate the three types of variables from one another

How many types of correlation?

There are 3 types1.positive/ negative/zero/2.linear/non-linear3.simple/multiple/partial- If the direction is same, the relationship is positive-If the direction is opposite , the relationship is negative-If the amount of change is constant in different variable it is linear-If the amount of change is not constant in different variable is non- linear-If it is establishing a relationship between two characteristic then it is simple- If it is establishing a relationship between three or more characteristic then it is multiple-If it is establishing a relationship between only one of all the variable then it is partial

Is a scatter plot the same as a line graph?

A scatter plot is a plot of paired (x,y) data with a horizontal x axis and a vertical y-axis. (definition as given in Elementary Statistics by Triola). Textbooks may have different definitions. If one variable is considered an independent variable, then generally it is the x value. This is particularly important if there is a relationship between the two variables, in that knowing the x value helps predict the y value. A best fit line can be drawn through the points. A line graph in general connects points on a graph. The x-axis may not be a numerical value or it may not be equal spaced increments. For example, suppose I did surveys in years 2001, 2002 and 2009, counting how many accidents there were in a particular intersection. A line graph would show three years, 2001, 2002 and 2009, as equal spaced intervals on the x-axis. The above definition is consistent with plots made in Excel. I note that some textbooks may consider a line graph as any plot that contains lines connecting the data. See related links. You can find many good examples of graphical displays of data on the internet.

What are the three parts to a hypothesis?

The three parts of a hypothesis are to identify the problem, make an educated guess and identify the major variables. A hypothesis is the description of a scientific question.

Does ten and three fourths show direct variation?

No. Direct variation describes a relationship between two variables. It has nothing to do with the value of a single number.

What is an alignment diagram?

An alignment diagram is another name for a nomogram, a mathematical diagram in which the relationship between three variables is represented by a straight line or curve for each variable.

What is an alignment chart?

An alignment chart is another name for a nomogram, a mathematical diagram in which the relationship between three variables is represented by a straight line or curve for each variable.

Why is there no relevant graph for the combined gas law?

The combined gas law states that P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2. Note there are three variable, namely P(pressure), V(volume) and T(temperature). Thus, there can be no single relevant graph. One could have a graph of P vs. V or P vs T for example, but not a graph including all three variables.

What is the relationship between the three countries of NAFTA?

What is a graph with 3 axis called?

It could either be a graph with 3 horizontal axes; or a graph with one horizontal axis and two vertical ones. This would be for situations where you wish to plot several dependent variables against the same independent one, but the units or scale of the independent variables do not allow you to use the same axis. For example, you may wish to plot the rate of inflation (%) and numbers unemployed (millions) in an economy against the same independent variable, time; or it could be a three dimensional graph. And, by that is meant a genuine 3-d graph with 3 interacting variables rather than a graph that has been given a spurious (and sometimes misleading) third dimension.

How do you prove what a b and c equals if a plus b plus c equals 24 and a2 plus b2 equals c2?

Roughly speaking, to get a unique solution - or at least, a limited number of solutions - if you have 3 variables, you need 3 equations, not just 2. With the two equations, you can get a relationship between the three variables, but not a unique value for a, b, and c. To get the general relationship, solve both equations for "c", replace one in the other, and solve the resulting equation for "a" to get the relationship between the variables "a" and "b". Then, for any valid combination of values for "a" and "b", use the simpler of the original equations (a + b + c = 24) to get the corresponding value for "c".
