You can easily do word processing works in a netbook. But in that case you can have either OpenOffice.org as a total office suite or AbiWord if you only need a word processor. As both of them are lightweight and free. They can easily run on a netbook. I would recommend MS Office, which is legal and good to use for log duration, and also make sure that you use original products of Microsoft.
