I own a 91' XJ6 also and i believe when that code comes up it is as simple as your gas cap not being on all the way
mine is a 92 xj6 and in the car handbook it has all the stuff jaguar reccommend. but i use castrol high mileage.jaguar reccommend castrol products.
YES....All the Jaguar factory installed CD changers are compatable. They are made by Alpine but are labeled as Jaguar. So...if you need that little cable with the proprietary socket that might be missing from the replacement changer you can buy it at www.crutchfields.com (or any other auto audio store) rather than a Jag dealer. and save about $60.00. : the later Jaguars use a Ford type fitting for the CD Changers so on a 1999 V8 3.2 the CD changer is not a Din type , its the ford square plug type :

Contact the Jaguar Drivers Club, must be on the Internet, Their HQ is in Luton. jag-lovers.org look for JDHT CD page and you can purchase a CD specific to your car also if you have a XJS you can download Kirby Palm's "The Book" for free. very helpful.
try valet switch in 'glovebox' between front seats
Remove the rear light cell to expose the sending unit. All will be clear then.....AP
use the key,f locked with key, has toe unlocked with key before remote system will open
have you checked to see if the antenna is coming up all the way? they tend to get stuck if not lubed regularly.
I hit the valet swtch in my 1995 xj6 when cleaning, The boot will open via the switch on the dash and or with my key, but when using the fob to open the car, all is fine but the boot has to be done via key as it dont via central looking.
you're not getting it seated all the way. the clip has to snap onto the top of the spark plug.
