Yes it's the same transmission.
4L60E in all the half tons. 4L80E in the 3/4 tons.
Z-71 has different shocks and a couple more skid plates over the standard Chev 4 x4.
The Detrioit Locker was common on Z-71 4x4 though i cannot say it is on every Z-71.
yes the true z71's are 4x4 but people put the z71 decals on there standard 2wd trucks because the z71 is the most popular Chevy truck
