Yes if they get mad at you .
I just adopted a Florida Snapping Turtle, someone had for ten years. It is about 8 inches long. It is still kind of nippy, I'm trying to socialize it. I hold it a lot and I just never put my fingers in front of it. If it gets upset about something I slowly put it down or I wrap it in a T-Shirt.
You can hold a snapping turle by lifting its hind legs off the ground (by the tail) and sliding your other hand under its plastron (botton side of its shell).
Yes, snapping turtles have a very powerful bite and oftentimes will not release whatever they have bitten for quite a while. Approach them with caution, even the very young have a powerful bite.
sometimes it depends if you treat them welll
Hell yea I'm gonna sell you encyclopedias!
Sometimes if you catch a wild one. But if you hatch it, it may not bite at all.
Yes. Any pet reptile will bite its owner. Reptiles generally do not have the same sense of affection as mammals do.
Nope! It will hang on, but will let go only after something is made to force its jaws open.
It snaps you really hard.
Some turtles can bite humans - I think a big snapping turtle might be able to cut your finger off. However, turtles do not prey on humans for food.
No, but they can bite!
no not realy but they can if you are feeding them from your hand. Also they don't bite like snapping turtle. HA HA inside joke
humans
Well, if they bite I would call them snapping.
Hell yeah that thing will bite your face off if it has the chance
I would not reccommend swimming with the snapping turtles. You can safely swim in a pond or river that has snapping turtles living in it. Snapping turtles bite if you get too close, though, and their jaws are very strong. A snapping turtle could bite your finger off. So swim away, but don't get too close to the turtles!
No, they will get nippy and mad. They might bite or even kill the other turtles.
Not very dangerous! Snapping turtles can bite your hand off if you provoke them.
what eatts a snapping turtle humans :( we eat turtles because we use their meat in turtle soup. that's why its called TURTLE soup.
As babies snapping turtles get along with all kinds of turtles. once the snapping turtle gets big enough, it starts to realize it is stronger and bigger than the other turtles. At that point it gets very aggressive. I have a 6 month old snapping turtle that is very calm and stays away from the other turtles. My friend's snapping turtle though, is another story. His snapper is always trying to bite the other turtles limbs but is to slow is the deep water.
Crocodile snapping turtles do not exist. Only Alligator snapping turtles do.
