When I was a little girl my mom would cut and fold a small piece of brown paper bag and place it under my top lip to help stop or control my nose bleed. It worked.

Yes it does, my mom used to use it for me and my siblings when we had nosebleeds and now I use them on my kids when they get nosebleeds. It stops the bleeding instantly.
